Today I was contacted by George Roberts of USA Hauling and Recycling letting me know that they are behind the Keep it Green Project 100%. This is a big relief for me because I was still unsure of how we would be getting rid of the garbage we will be collecting. I am very excited to work with a company that is very in-tuned to the community they serve.
It’s a learning process..

The additional support I’ve gotten from this project has been great, One thing that I’m finding along the way is that graphic designers in no way are special event coordinators (or at least at first). Michael Mosher has helped me coordinate the finer details of our first clean up event and brought to my attention important things that I initially overlooked. Is the area of the these events on town land, or is it private property? He was able to find out that it is land that belongs to the town and I will have to map out our main target zone. It looks like a trip to the planning and zoning office is in my near future.
Guest speaking

Today was a exciting day, I finally got to meet Lee Currey (an avid supporter of the project) as well as Michael Mosher. Lee had me speak to her class about the Keep it Green project, but I also got to listen to their suggestions on where they felt the best areas to target. I got some great perspective from Michael Mosher, who has organized clean up events before. Michael brought up a great point that it’s not only important clean up these areas, but educate people along the way about how garbage is impacting the wildlife. I’m really excited to have Lee and Michael as collaborators on this project and even in our short visit, were able to give me some great feedback on how to make the project succeed.
During this visit we were able to determine our first and second clean up areas. Our first clean up event will take place across from East Windsor park and out second event will take place behind East Windsor High School. It’s exciting to have theses areas finalized and now we can focus on making these events as productive as possible.

On Friday I also received the shipment of yard signs, I was surprised how quick these were turned around. We also have signs to mark where the clean up zones will take place. Next week T-shirts should arrive
